About Us

We are a small family owned business who have been supplying the Tasmanian market with custom quality made to measure curtains and blinds since 1984. Our first store was a general store selling many products as well as curtains and blinds located in the small town of Huonville. We then expanded and moved to Kingston in 1989 to concentrate purely on curtains and blinds. Our Kingston store expanded rapidly and our reputation for quality products and service grew just as rapidly, so much so that we decided to develop this website (www.beautifulblinds.com.au).

We pride ourselves on constantly keeping abreast of new and exciting innovations in the window furnishing industry and offer many exclusive products to our clients who visit our stores. Not all these products are available through the website, however we do provide an extensive range of products sourced from the best manufacturers in Australia. These products include the latest in window fashion trends, colours and textures. We will ensure our competitive edge by providing quality products at the best possible price.

All products are, of course backed by factory warranty, we stand behind our products.

Colour Accuracy

Although utmost care has been taken to ensure that the colors printed on our web site are accurate, actual colours will vary. In addition, subtle colour differences and textures may not be fully appreciated on some systems due to differences in computer monitors. As our products are all made to measure, and can't be returned, you need to be sure that any color variations that are possible from our scanning of the actual samples are acceptable to you. If an exact colour match is required, then please request a sample before placing your order. Once you receive your sample, keep in mind that all samples may still have minimal dyelot colour variations as stated by the manufacturers.

All natural timber products will vary in colour due to the natural grains inherent in the timber. Western red cedar is graded light - medium and meduim - dark, and variations will be apparent within these gradings. It is therefore important to order all blinds in the same room at the same time to ensure that all blinds are manufactured from the same batch of timber.

Fabric Back Lighting

"Back lighting" happens when light filters in through translucent fabrics from behind. Our swatches don't show you the effect of back lighting, which can soften colours and highlight fabric textures. Light filtering honeycomb blinds are particularly affected.

Secure Internet Commerce

Our online services are secure! When you place any order, all of your information is processed through our secure server. Beautiful Blinds utilises industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology that encrypts all your information before it is sent to us. We do not personally see your credit card details - these are sent direct to the bank's computer. We respect your privacy. All personal information you provide to us WILL remain absolutely confidential and be used solely to communicate better with you. We have never and will never share your information with anyone.

Window Measurements

For both inside and outside mounts the finished measurements of the window treatment are from the top of the headrail to the bottom of the bottomrail for the height. The width is from the left edge of the window treatment to the right edge.

Inside Mount

An inside mount fits within the window frame. On inside mounts specific deductions are taken by the factory for operating clearance. These deductions vary for each manufacturer and each product and are only approximate deductions. For more specific details please go to to the product page for the product you are interested in on our site before completing your order.

Outside Mount

An outside mount overlaps the window opening. Allowances are not taken by the manufacturer on this product. This is because you will need to supply us the exact measurements that you would like the window treatment to be. This includes adding extra for the width and the height to clear any trim etc if you so wish.

Payment Options

Since all window treatments from Beautiful Blinds are custom made to your specifications, all orders are paid for when your order is placed. Visa and Mastercard are accepted online. Bank cheques, personal cheques and money orders must be mailed to our office before your order is processed. All orders paid by cheque will not be processed for 5-7 days to allow time for your cheque to clear.

Changes, Cancellations and Refunds

Changes or cancellations may be made within 48 hours of placing your order, thereafter no changes or cancellation may be made. Therefore, please carefully check your order before placing it. If you find that you have made an error in your order or you wish to cancel it you may contact us within 24 hours on 1300 304 661 between 9am -5.30pm (EST) Monday to Saturday. After this time your order would have been started and we cannot change it once manufacturing has commenced.

Beautiful Blinds reserves the right to cancel your order if:

  • Your payment was declined by your Financial Institution.
  • We cannot complete your order due to either a product being discontinued or temporarily out of stock. In either instance we would contact you to offer a suitable replacement.
  • You require delivery outside Australia.
  • There has been a website malfunction, or a price listed incorrectly due to a typographical error on the website.

If Beautiful Blinds do cancel your order we will re-credit your credit card immediately and notify you via email that this has been done. Beautiful Blinds will not be held liable for any compensation due to the cancellation of any order.

Discontinued and/or Back Ordered Items

Beautiful Blinds has no control over products that are discontinued or placed on backorder by the various manufacturers. Beautiful Blinds will make every effort to remove discontinued items as soon as we are made aware of them and will notify you whenever we receive notice of any items placed on backorder.


Delivery times are given as estimates only based on normal production times. Production times also vary from product to product. Orders comprising of different window furnishing products will be shipped as each product is completed. Estimated delivery times are based on working days and exclude weekends, public holidays and factory shutdowns. If you have a particular deadline please notify us at the time of placing your order and we will do our utmost to meet your deadline. Beautiful Blinds cannot be held responsible for shipping delays beyond our control.

Approximate delivery time for all blinds is 2 - 3 weeks except Honeycomb Blinds, which will take 3 - 4 weeks.

Delivery charges are $25 per order delivered anywhere in Australia. We will endeaver to deliver within 21 days of order but this is dependent on product and time to deliver to your home. Should you not be home when the courier calls, a calling card will be left with a phone number for you to call to arrange a suitable delivery time.

Child Safety Legislation

All blinds supplied by Beautiful Blinds are child safety compliant and meet all parts of the New South Wales and Tasmanian Government Legislature. There is currently no legislation governing child safety in the other states, but all blinds being sold into the other states are all child safe.

Delivery and Inspection of Merchandise

IMPORTANT: Inspect your merchandise as soon as you receive it and notify Beautiful Blinds immediately if the merchandise has been damaged in shipment. If the packaging appears damaged please indicate this on the consignment note that you sign on receipt of the goods. Inspect the goods to make sure that the products you ordered were made exactly as you specified when you ordered them. If you notify Beautiful Blinds that the merchandise has been damaged in shipment or was made incorrectly within 7 days of the date that the merchandise is delivered to you, Beautiful Blinds will have the damaged blinds either repaired or replaced at no cost to you. If you do not notify Beautiful Blinds that the merchandise has been damaged in transit during this 7 day period, Beautiful Blinds will not be held responsible for the repair or replacement of the damaged merchandise.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

All custom made Beautiful Blinds are covered by a limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty covers you the original purchaser for as long as you own the blinds in a residential application.

We guarantee that all blinds supplied by Beautiful Blinds will be free of defects and workmanship for that period of time. In the event of any defects, repairs or replacement will be speedily provided.

Warranties do not cover:

  • Incorrect installation
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Misuse or abuse of products
  • Exposure to the elements

All materials can deteriorate after long periods of exposure to sunlight. Plastics can crack, cords will wear out. These are things that are considered normal wear and tear and are not covered by the above warranty. If our products are found to be defective during the warranty period we will repair or replace the defective product.

Warranties with respect to the blinds you are purchasing from Beautiful Blinds are provided to you directly by the manufacturer of these products and are incorporated into your order. If a specific warranty applies to the blinds you are ordering, they will have a 'Care and Warranty' section or link on the product's information page. Beautiful Blinds itself disclaims any warranty and/or implied warranty of merchantability of fitness for a particular purpose with regard to the goods you are purchasing.

A warranty does not apply to Tuscany venetian blinds over 4.8 square metres.
