Double Roller Blinds

Double roller blinds usually consist of a combination of blockout and sunscreen/ sheer roller blinds.

The back blind is always under rolled and the front blind is always overrolled. Blind warranties are void if this is not done (blinds can rub together and cause fraying if they are not installed as directed).

These blinds come complete with brackets and child safety device.

We do use 2 systems of brackets depending on the space that you have and if we are matching to pre-existing blinds. Our preferred double bracket system is now the Acmeda slimline top front double bracket. It only requires 85mm of inside space to mount the bracket, whereas most double bracket systems require 100-120mm.

Inside Mount

  1. Blinds can have controls on opposite sides or on the same sides. Acmeda Top front slimline brackets have controls both on the same side. There is no option for opposite side controls.
  2. Brackets are positioned inside the window mount ensuring that there is a 20-40mm gap between the glass and the bracket to ensure that the back blind does not rub against the glass.
  3. The back blind is positioned first. Place the chain control (clutch) end into the bracket first and then the pin end will clip in easily.
  4. Place the overrolled front blind into the chain control (clutch ) end of the blind first and then the pin end will clip in easily.
  5. Check that both blinds are operating smoothly and then place chains through safety cord locks and screw cord locks to the inside of the window frame. NB do not apply tension to the cord running through the cord lock

Outside Mount

  1. Blinds can have controls on opposite sides or on the same sides.
  2. Brackets are positioned on the face of the window mount ensuring that there is a 20-40mm gap between the glass and the bracket to ensure that the back blind does not rub against the glass.

Removing the Blinds

Hold the front blind near the pin end in one hand and with the other turn the plastic end of the blind. The pin will retract and the blind will easily drop out. Repeat for the back blind.

Trouble shooting

If either blind 'rolls' off to one side, lower the affected blind completely and place one or more pieces of masking tape near the roller on that side. Blind should now roll up straight.

* Please note: All of our blinds now come with installation guides packaged with the blinds. Please note that we rarely supply screws and wall anchors with our blinds as we do not know what you are fixing your blinds into. *
